Montclair Blooms
Montclair Blooms is a community-led effort to give Montclair Village a living visual language: rich public art and murals throughout the village, a refreshed brand, and native plants working together as one recognizable civic identity to attract business and give us a stronger voice within Oakland.
The Inspiration
Inspiration for this project comes from various community led public art efforts in cities like Copenhagen, which has proven to increase overall happiness of residents as well as improve business engagement as well.
Visual Language
Murals would consist of graphic language inspired by flowers, trees, and foliage that is native to Oakland, CA and be scalable throughout the built environment and also the refreshed Montclair brand as well.
The Vision
This is so much more than just murals. Long term, this project has the capacity to make Montclair a destination and breathe life into local business and community. From public art to branding to expanding green space, Montclair Blooms is a grassroots opportunity to energize our town and to put creativity, joy, and community back at the heart of our town.
